Description of key information
The EC50 of 3-HNA to bacteria of a sewage treatment plant was above the highest test concentration of 1340 mg/L. The EC10 was determined to be 278 mg/L. Both values are based on nominal concentration.

Only one study with microorganism of the STP is available conducted with the structural analogon of 6 -HNA, 3 -HNA. Here, the EC50 was determined to be above the highest test concentration of 1340 mg/L. As there is a close structural similarity of the two substances, a similar mode of action regarding toxic effects can be assumed, leading to a similar toxicity of both substances. Therefore, it is justified to use the endpoints derived from the study with 3 -HNA as a surrogate for 6 -HNA.
