Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

THe substance HBED-Fe (UVCB) will exhibit negligable vapour pressure at room temperature.

The vapour pressure of the structurally related compound EDDHA-Fe was determined to be < 1E-6 hPa at 25 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Because of its high polarity the substance always contains a few % of water so the vapour pressure exhibited by this substance is expected to be that of the adherent water. The substance does not melt under the decomposition temperature of 164°C and based on its multiple carboxylic acid salt functionality the pure substance will exhibit negligable vapor pressure.

The vapour pressure of the structurally related compound EDDHMA-Fe was determined to be 111 Pa and 142 Pa at 20°C and 159 Pa and 203 Pa

at 25°C. It can be concluded that the test article exhibits a low but measurable vapour pressure at room temperature, which is most probably caused by the presence of 7% water in the test substance.
