The reference substance was tested for acute toxicity toward three trophic levels (fish, daphnia and algae) as well as for toxicity towards microorganisms. In all four tests spersaturated solutions were tested with nominal concentrations far above the limit of water solubility 0.3 mg/L for the reference substance). No mortality or other adverse effects were seen in any of the tests performed. Thus, the substance is considered not being hazardous to aquatic organisms based on the test results.

Long term studies are not required, given the low water solubility, the lack of adverse effects seen in acute studies and the low exposure to aquatic systems resulting in RCRs significantly smaller than 1, based on PNECs derived by using conservative assessment factors applicable to acute study results.
