Description of key information

Quinine is short burning and a rapid extinguishing (BZ2) during the preliminary test. In consequence quinine can not be considered as flammable.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

non flammable

Additional information

According to the study report the flammability of quinine was determined similar to the preliminary testing according to regulation 44072008. During the test quinine shortly burns and rapidly extinguish. Consequently, further testing is not required according to regulation 440/2008. Thus, quinine does not need to be considered as flammable.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The test showed that quinine shortly burns and rapidly extinguish, so that further testing is not necessary according to regulation 440/2008. Thus, quinine is not flammable and does not need to be classified.
