Description of key information

In the study on ready biodegradability no degradation was observed within 28 days. The reference compound sodium benzoate showed 86 % degradation after 14 days (Neuhahn, 2007). Therefore, the substance is considered to be “Not Readily Biodegradable”.

In another study on inherent biodegradability only 8 % degradation was determined after 28 days. The reference compound sodium benzoate showed 84 % degradation after 14 days (Neuhahn, 2015). Therefore, the substance is considered to be “Not Inherently Biodegradable”.
