Additional information

Experimental studies cover the toxicity to three different trophic levels (fish, aquatic invertebrates and algae). All studies were performed according to internationally accepted guidelines and the principles of GLP. Freshwater invertebrates turned out to be the most sensitive species with an EC50 (48 h) of 0.0068 mg/L followed by freshwater fish with a LC50 (96 h) of 2.8 mg/L and aquatic algae with an ErC50 (72 h) of 9.3 mg/L. Except for aquatic algae (NOErC (72 h): < 0.33 mg/L) no chronic toxicity data are available. The respiration inhibition of activated sludge was studied in one experimental study. It resulted in an EC50 (3 h) of 137.5 mg/L.
