Description of key information

For the assessment of the aquatic hazard of the item, GLP guideline studies are available for the short-term toxicity to three trophic levels (fish, aquatic invertebrates and algae), for the long-term toxicity to two trophic levels (aquatic invertebrates and algae), respectively. For short-term aquatic toxicity, aquatic invertebrates are the most sensitive trophic level with an EC50 (48 h) of 0.275 mg/L. For long-term aquatic toxicity, aquatic invertebrates is also the most sensitive trophic level with a NOEC of 0.0141 mg/L. Furthermore, no inhibition of activated sludge respiration was observed up to 10000 mg/L in a study of toxicity to bacteria.
