Ecotoxicological information

Long-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates

Administrative data

Endpoint:
long-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates
Type of information:
experimental study planned
Study period:
The test will be conducted after a decision on the requirement to carry out the proposed test has been taken.
Justification for type of information:
- Due to the low water solubility of the test substance a long-term toxicity test is proposed as a replacement for an acute toxicity test as the achievable testing concentrations will not be sufficient under the scope of acute testing. A long-term toxicity test on aquatic invertebrates is only mandatory for substances produced or imported in higher volumes (as described in Annex IX and to to REACH), but is considered feasible as a replacement test of acute toxicity testing for substances with low water solubility (Practical guide for SME managers and REACH coordinators, V 1.0, 2016)

- A long-term toxicity study with Esterification products of fatty acids, C18 (unsaturated) alkyl and adipic acid with pentaerythritol according to OECD 211 is proposed by the registrant
