Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Significant accumulation of 2-propylheptyl acrylate in fish is not to be expected.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No data on bioaccumulation in fish are available. Based on the octanol/water coefficient (log Kow > 6.3) a high bioaccumulation potential of the test substance is indicated.

However, due to the low water solubility (WS = 0.5 mg/L; s. analytical results of the studies shown in IUCLID section 4.8) of 2-propylheptyl acrylate, it is expected that under environmental conditions only small amounts of the test substance are dissolved in water. Based on these low concentrations of dissolved test substance combined with the photolytical instability (IUCLID section 5.1.1) and the fast biodegradability (IUCLID section 5.2.1) of 2-propylheptyl acrylate it is assumed that the amount of bioavailable test substance in water is negligible low.
