Additional information

According to the ECHA guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, Part E for some substances it may not be possible to undertake a full quantitative risk assessment because of the inability to calculate a PNECwater. We believe that this is the case here: no effects are observed in short -term tests, while test concentrations were considerably high (up to ca. 100 mg/L). At none of the tested concentrations an effect was observed. For derivation of the PNECs, the lowest tested concentration was used as a starting point. However, it is most likely that these PNECs are significantly lower than what they are in reality due to lack of more specific data. It was therefore concluded that for this substance it is warranted that a qualitative risk assessment is conducted.

Conclusion on classification

On the basis of all available information, the substance does not require classification for any environmental hazard (EC1272/2008).
