Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

General advice:

Remove contaminated clothing. If difficulties occur: Obtain medical attention. Show container, label

and/or safety data sheet to physician.

If inhaled:

Keep patient calm, remove to fresh air, seek medical attention.

On skin contact:

Wash thoroughly with soap and water.

On contact with eyes:

Wash affected eyes for at least 15 minutes under running water with eyelids held open.

On ingestion:

Rinse mouth immediately and then drink plenty of water, seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:

water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, dry extinguishing media, carbon dioxide

Special protective equipment:

Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus.

Further information:

Keep containers cool by spraying with water if exposed to fire. Collect contaminated extinguishing

water separately, do not allow to reach sewage or effluent systems. Dispose of fire debris and

contaminated extinguishing water in accordance with official regulations.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions:

Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and clothing. Use personal protective clothing. Ensure adequate

ventilation.

Environmental precautions:

Do not empty into drains.

Methods for cleaning up or taking up:

For large amounts: Dike spillage. Pump off product.

For residues: Pick up with suitable absorbent material. Dispose of absorbed material in accordance

with regulations.

Handling and storage

Handling

Ensure thorough ventilation of stores and work areas.

Protection against fire and explosion:

Prevent electrostatic charge - sources of ignition should be kept well clear - fire extinguishers should

be kept handy.

Storage

Suitable materials for containers: Stove-lacquer RDL 50, High density polyethylene (HDPE), Low

density polyethylene (LDPE), tin (tinplate), glass

Further information on storage conditions: Containers should be stored tightly sealed in a dry place.

Protect contents from the effects of light. Protect against heat.

Personal protective equipment

Respiratory protection:

Wear respiratory protection if ventilation is inadequate. Gas filter for gases/vapours of organic

compounds (boiling point >65 °C, e. g. EN 14387 Type A)

Hand protection:

Chemical resistant protective gloves (EN 374)

Suitable materials also with prolonged, direct contact (Recommended: Protective index 6,

corresponding > 480 minutes of permeation time according to EN 374):

butyl rubber (butyl) - 0.7 mm coating thickness

nitrile rubber (NBR) - 0.4 mm coating thickness

Supplementary note: The specifications are based on tests, literature data and information of glove

manufacturers or are derived from similar substances by analogy. Due to many conditions (e.g.

temperature) it must be considered, that the practical usage of a chemical-protective glove in practice

may be much shorter than the permeation time determined through testing.

Eye protection:

Safety glasses with side-shields (frame goggles) (e.g. EN 166)

General safety and hygiene measures:

Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and clothing. Wearing of closed work clothing is recommended. No

eating, drinking, smoking or tobacco use at the place of work. Store work clothing separately.
