Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information
The substances toxicity to microorganinsm has been assessed based on read-across results from two comparable substances. Both results gave a 0.5 hr E(I)C50 >100 mg/L. Based on these results to is considered the substance is not toxic to sewage microorganisms.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- EC50 for microorganisms:
- 100 mg/L
- EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
- 100 mg/L
Additional information
The results from two comparable substances have been read-across the assess the substances toxicity to microorganisms.
Study Conducted on Read-across substance EC No. 434 -430 -9 (EA-3098)
The influence of the test material on the respiration rate of activated sludge was investigated after a contact time of 30 minutes.
The study procedure was based on OECD Guideline No. 209, EEC Directive 67/548 and ISO Standard 8192.
Since the test material is porrly soluble in water, it was quantitatively added to the test vessels. A nominal contration of 100 mg/l was tested in duplicate. Optimal contact between the test substance and the test medium was ensured by applying continuous aeration and stirring.
No inhibition of respiration rate of the sludge was recorded at 100 mg/l of test material. The duplicate measurement confirmed the result of the first measurement. Therefore no further testing was needed.
Since all criteria for acceptability of the test were met, the study was considered to be valid.
In conclusion, under the conditions of the test, EA-3098 was not toxic to waste water (activated sludge) bacteria at a concentration of 100 mg/l.
Study Conducted on Read-across substance EC No. 423 -300 -7 (Amide#71)
Study conducted to EU Method C.11 (Biodegradation: Activated Sludge Respiration Inhibition Test).
The solutions for testing were prepared to give 100 mg test substance per litre.
After a contact time of 0.5 hr, no significant inhibition in the respiration rate of the sludge was recorded at 100 mg test substance per litre. The duplicate confirmed the first measurement.
The 0.5 h IC50 for the test substance, based on respiration rate, was >100 mg/l.
Based on these results to is considered the substance is not toxic to sewage microorganisms.
