Results and discussion

Any other information on results incl. tables

No treatment related differences between control and treated fauna species were observed. Quantity of main species and diversity index were unchanged.Acute and chronic toxicity to Holotrichia parallela was very low: Concentrations up to 3000 mg REcomppound/l did not increase death rates compared to controls after 72 h acute exposure. Chronic exposure to Holotrichia parallela to up to 3000 mg rare earth compound/kg did not lead to significant changes in pup numbers, pupation percentage, emergence number, emergence percentage, death number and death ratio compared to untreated controls. The NOEC for chronic toxicity to was > 3000 mgLa/kg. The NOEC for ecological effects was >= 2425 g rare earth oxide/plot

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
At very high concentrations rare earth chlorides and oxides did not show any acute and chronic toxicity to Holotrichia parallela and did not influence species distribution and diversity index of 9 soil species.
Executive summary:

At very high concentrations rare earth chlorides and oxides did not show any acute and chronic toxicity to Holotrichia parallela and did not influence species distribution and diversity index of 9 soil species.
