Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

2020-08-18 to 2020-09-02
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
UN Manual of Tests and Criteria: Test N.1 (Test method for readily combustible solids)
Version / remarks:
2019
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:

Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period

The test item was tested as received. Theflammability of the test item wasdetermined by ignition of a powder train with a length of 250 mm and a triangular cross-section of 10 mm height and 20 mm width with the hot flame of a gas burner.

The test item was not flammable within 2 minutes by the flame of a butane gas burner within the ignition zone (the first 50 mm of the formed test item). When the white test item was directly exposed to the hot burner flame, it melted, turned brown to black with slightly grey areas and carbonized. Smoke development was observed and in the burner flame the test item burned with an orange flame. After cooling down, the test item appeared as a black-grey mass.

Interpretation of results:
not classified based on GHS criteria
Conclusions:
The test item is ‘not classified as a flammable solid‘ according to test guidelines UN Manual of Tests and Criteria (2019) and Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP).

Description of key information

The test item is ‘not classified as a flammable solid‘ according to test guidelines UN Manual of Tests and Criteria (2019) and Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

Justification for classification or non-classification
