Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Based on the structure of Digylceryl diisostearte a Log Kow of > 14 can be estimated (see IUCLID Chapter 4.7). Measuring of Log Kow >8 is not possible due to analytical limitations. The same analytical issues would apply for an OECD 305 Fish BCF study. It is known from measured BCF that with increasing log Kow of the substance the BCF increases until log Kow 6-7 but then drops again. In the REACH Guidance Document R.11 Appendix R.11-1 Annex 1) a graph is illustrating this BCF Log Kow correlation and a cut-off value for bioaccumulation is proposed for values of log Kow > 10.Based on this REACH Guidance it can be concluded that the registration substance with a calculated Log Kow > 14 has a low potential for bioaccumulation and biomagnification.

In the OECD HPV programm the category of Glycerides, where the registration substance is member of, it was concluded that all Glyceride Category members have BCF values less than 500, indicating a low potential for bioaccumulation.
