Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The registration substance is an ester of fatty acid with oligoglycerols. The esters can be hydrolized and therefore the fatty acid and glycerol compounds have to be considered beside the glyceride substance itself.

Data was reviewed from OECD SIDS HPV reports for all three classes of substances and in addition fatty acids have been reviewed by a HERA risk assessment.

Calculations with EPIWIN are included, which showed that ECOSAR calculations for the glyceride substance and fatty acids are not reliable by comparing the calculation results with existing experimental data. Calculation data for Oligoglycerol compounds fits well and shows a low potential for ecotoxicity.

The lowest chronic NOEC value found is 2mg/L for fish which can be seen as a worst case as all other results are above the water solubility. The value is derived from an fatty acid which is unlikely to occure as hydrolisis is much slower then biodegradation.
